Lives up to average grigo'ized Mexican

Posted by gman59802 on 2/7/2009

Its a fairly nice little strip mall family mexican restaurant, but the food is bland with very little spice or peppers. The nachos appetizer was too crisp (read burnt) with the cheese hard baked into the chips. Chips and salsa while you wait more like ketchup than salsa. The quesadillas were more like applebees than a Mexican dish. The burrito was just a smothered in sauce bland lettuce covered burnt cheeze topped basic. Use tobasco and tapatio sauce generously. I'll give it a second chance sometime. Good service with nice family style people.

Better than Azteca ... but watch out for ants!

Posted by corimay on 1/6/2009

I used to go here all the time. I find that their food is less greasy than Azteca. However, the last time I went here, our table was crawling with tiny ants. I was disgusted and left. The waiter looked annoyed with us after we told them that we decided not to eat there because of the ants and we weren't comfortable eating there. I hope they've taken care of that issue.

Not extraordinary, but my favorite for Mexican

I'd walked by this place so many times before I even realized it was there. The decor is extremely colorful and fun: all the tables and chairs are decorated with bright, bold, colorful paintings and the lamps from the ceilings were so fun. I've been three times: twice with small groups of 3, and once with a huge group of 12. The menu is pretty standard: fajitas, guacamole, enchiladas, refried beans and rice. The waiters weren't especially attentive, but they were polite and were nice about making special requests. When I came with the large group for lunch, at least five people ordered substitutes and replacements, and one of my friends wanted to order something from the dinner menu. The service was polite, all the changes were made, and the dinner menu was brought out. The food isn't the best mexican out there, but the atmosphere and the decent food keeps bringing me back.

great place, highly recommend.

This is "our" Mexican place & frequent monthly. Consistently good food and I always get the Cadillac Margarita. My wife likes most of the veggie dishes and I typically opt for a burrito of some sort. If there is a wait for a table then it will be loud inside. Late on a weeknight when it?s empty, the atmosphere is much better than the average. Good tasting & value food, good value drinks (get the Cadillac).

Wasn't impressed

The mexican food was ok. It wasn't impressive like the last reviewer had stated. I have been to serveral other places that had better food. Also, the service was very slow and the waiter wasn't attentive at all. I dont think that we will be back
